# “Level IV” Jury The “Level IV” Jury is a School of Music–wide checkpoint for all Bachelor of Music majors in any concentration (Performance, Education, Composition, etc.). It occurs at the conclusion of the fourth level of Applied Lessons (MUSA 228). ## Percussion Area Level IV Requirements All percussionists entering the Level IV Jury must show completion of the [[4.3.0 What are Proficiency Minimums#Lower-Division Minimums ("Level IV")|Lower-Division Minimum Proficiencies]] along with proof of ownership of the following items: - *Teaching Percussion* by Gary Cook - A Concert Tambourine with case and beeswax - A Triangle with case, clip, and set of beaters - Three hardnesses of timpani mallets - A Hi-hat clutch These purchases are a substantial investment — and the essential tools of any professional percussionist. They are only a *fraction* of the personal inventory you will build over time with more specialized sticks, mallets, and equipment to suit your needs.
