# Applied Lessons Responsibility
In order to develop your skills as a musician it is imperative that you have a focused diligence in your private percussion studies. Average work will not prepare you for a successful career in music.
Therefore, the policy of this percussion studies program does not allow for more than one semester grade lower than a B – you will be put on notice after the first semester-grade of C (or lower). Students who have earned two semester-grades of C (or lower) are no longer eligible to pursue a major or minor in the UNLV Percussion Area.
# Minimum Grade Thresholds
The UNLV School of Music has minimum grade thresholds for Undergraduate and Graduate Music Majors. Thus, an F is not the only "failing grade."
**Undergraduates** must earn above a C- in ***all*** MUS, MUSA, and MUSE courses for the course to count towards satisfactory completion.
**Graduates** must earn above a B- in ***all*** coursework to count towards satisfactory completion.
# Failed Hearings
A failed hearing is when a Recital Hearing is deemed unsuitable for public performance. This policy is under review and will be posted soon...
