# About the Advisory Committee The Appointment of Advisory Committee Form is completed in Grad Rebel Gateway. After you ensure the Dr. Bissantz and Dr. Gronemeier are on your committee. Your remaining members should be from the School of Music. Your Graduate College Representative must be from *outside the school of music.* This individual serves as an impartial third-party to ensure your committee treats you fairly and/or upholds appropriate rigor and standards. ### Considering who to choose You should choose committee members (especially DMA) who you believe will provide applicable wisdom and guidance during your studies or document writing. For masters students, this is not as crucial. DMA students writing their document on something composition-based, for example, may want to ask composition faculty to be on their committee. Get to know the faculty and **respectfully request their service on your committee.** Remember, this is *extra, non-paid* service that you are asking of them. Please be patient and grateful for their time.
