# Dr. Alex Stopa Wins Two Pacific-Southwest Emmy Awards <small>June 24, 2023</small> [Link to original article from UNLV College of Fine Arts](https://www.unlv.edu/announcement/college-fine-arts/unlv-alum-adjunct-music-professor-wins-two-pacific-southwest-emmy) UNLV Percussion alum and current adjunct professor, Dr. Alex Stopa, was a two-time winner at the 49th Annual Pacific-Southwest Emmy Awards for his original composition _Spiral_ in the categories of ‘Arts and Entertainment’ and ‘Director – Short Form Content.’ Dr. Stopa is a generational talent and resource for the UNLV Percussion Area. We are tremendously excited for his achievement!
